Call for Contributions – Demonstrations

ESEC/FSE 2009 Demonstrations track invites contributions – in the form of software demonstration and illustrating poster – concerning innovative technologies, platforms and tools supporting software engineering. The fields of software engineering covered are the ones of the main call for contributions.

Demonstrations proposals should be submitted to the Demonstrations Chairs via email (check Contact below). Submissions must be in the form of a short paper, submitted as PDF and adhering to the ACM proceedings format. Papers must not exceed two (2) pages in this format, including all text, references and figures. A separate annex of no more than two (2) pages (not to be included in the proceedings) about the demo setup and execution should also be submitted.

Submissions will be reviewed by the ESEC/FSE 2009 Demonstrations Chairs for originality, relevance, soundness, and quality of presentation. Papers should briefly introduce the research work underpinning the demonstration and comprehensively present the platform or tool to be demonstrated. The innovative character and significance of the contribution should as well be explicitly stated. Proposed demonstrations should be accessible to a wide audience. In the separate annex, authors should additionally explain how the demonstration will be performed and how this will highlight the background research work; they should also indicate the demonstration setup logistics.

Accepted demonstrations must be presented at the conference by one of the authors, without exception. Presenters must bring to the conference the actual demonstration setup and the supporting poster. More details about these will be given later. All accepted contributions (short papers) will be published in the ESEC/FSE 2009 conference proceedings, which will be distributed at the conference in electronic format and will be included in the ACM Digital Library.
